GovLoop.com, the premier social network for government, now brings the “awesomeness” to the next level by tying in philanthropy with government 2.0 through the AwesomeGov Fund.

Neighbors For Neighbors, Inc. is one of the Charities that is entered to win to the content and get the monie$! So please vote for Neighbors for Neighbors!

Participate and Make a Difference

To celebrate the launch of the fund, GovLoop will donate $1.00 for each new government professional who joins GovLoop between Nov. 15 and Dec. 15. The process will be community-driven. GovLoop members will submit charity recommendations, vote for their favorite causes and the total amount will be donated to the winning charity. You can participate at govloop.com. govloop.com.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  1. Invite all the government employees you know to join GovLoop.
  2. Tell them to submit or vote for a charity or non-profit organization.
  3. Make sure to give to CFC, join the CFC dialogue and participate in the other fine drives that are going on now.

More about the AwesomeGov Fund:

We are still defining the projects and initiatives (and we intend to engage you in determining next steps), but the key is that we want to give away a meaningful amount of any revenue we generate from the site to achieve our ultimate mission: connecting and improving government.

The purpose of the fund is to:

  • Support the people in government and their efforts to do good. Fund monies will be used to encourage:
  • Training and education
  • Good government programs
  • Effective government communication with the public
  • Nonprofit work
  • Organizations that support government
  • To engage the public sector in giving back to the community.
  • To utilize the premier government social network to build awareness and support of giving back to the community.

The AwesomeGov Fund represents the new way government is doing good for the community…the Web 2.0 way. We hope you agree that it’s…well, awesome!
