Take the 3 Day Challenge to Fight AIDS

Posted on June 3, 2011 at 12:10pm 0 Comments

30 years into the AIDS epidemic, we know what works to prevent new infections. We just need the resources to reach more people and keep the ones affected in good care.

This year, on the Wednesday-Friday before the Walk & Run, we're challenging ourselves to raise an extra $30,000 so we can reach even more people with prevention and care.

That's a 30% increase over last year for $130,000 total, so we're going to need YOUR help.

This Sunday marks the 30th anniversary of AIDS. It’s also the 26th annual AIDS Walk Boston.

I can’t blame you if you’re wondering why you should care. After all, a diagnosis of HIV or AIDS is no longer a death sentence. We know how the virus is transmitted and, let’s face it, it’s a preventable illness.

Welcome Tony,

Thanks for getting your neighbor-on here on Boston's soundboard for voices and springboard for action!

There are neighborhood forums to discuss neighborhood happenings, citywide forums to find/share resources, events to promote and see what's happening around the city, and groups of neighbors who do things together.

In addition, there are photos and videos, and we have live USTREAM streaming video channel on the main page. One more thing, you can also get crime reports - neato!

Please be sure to review our Community Guideline and Policies to understand what we do and the spirit in which we do it.

We are a volunteer-run and funded 501c3 nonprofit. If you're interested in volunteering, please see the NFN Team Group. To make a donation, click the blue Donate Now button on the top left of the main page to make a secure donation or consider becoming the Mayor of Your Block!

Please help us grow by inviting your neighbors.

Alex
