OpenMBTA for the iPhone

Today I’m at the Mass Dot Developers Conference at MIT. I’m interested in open data and the useful applications people are making with data that governments are now sharing.

A great example of this is OpenMBTA. OpenMBTA will show you today’s remaining scheduled arrival times for MBTA buses, subway trains, commuter rail lines, and ferries. It also has a section that shows you the latest T Alerts, which are service delay announcements from the MBTA.

While OpenMBTA is free, you can also check out the winner of the MassDot Developers Challenge wining app name Mass Transit now found on the itunes app store. This is app not free.

You might also want to check out the MBTA XML Feed for bus routes 39, 111, 114, 116, and 117 http://bit.ly/2mgoRF.
