For Immediate Release
Bella Luna Restaurant turns 14 years old on Tuesday, November 20, 2007. Owners Pierre Apollon, Carol Downs, Kathie Mainzer, and Charlie Rose and invite you to come in for dinner and enjoy a complimentary appetizer or dessert (see coupon below). “We love our neighborhood, our customers, our staff: it’s been a great fourteen years!” says Cofounder and CEO Kathie Mainzer. When Bella Luna first opened, Kathie’s daughter Megan Mainzer was just twelve years old — now she’s the Assistant General Manager in charge of customer service and operations. “Our goal is to provide a lovely evening so you become a regular guest,” explains the younger Mainzer. Chef Omar Jae Ramirez has been cooking at the helm of Bella Luna’s kitchen for over three years, offering delicious “fine dining at neighborhood prices.” “It’s all about the democracy of food” commented Chef Ramirez. “Our specials are in the $15-$19 range so people can enjoy fresh and seasonal creations on a daily basis,” he says. “Some of our regulars come in 3 and 4 times a week” added AGM Mainzer. Fall 2007 offerings include local Pear Salad with arugula, walnuts, gorgonzola and honey vinaigrette, Grilled Duck Breast with chive mashed potatoes, asparagus, and demi-glace, and Braised Short Ribs with potato puree and trio of mushrooms, all under $20. This concept has been a winner for 14 years, as Bella Luna is busier than ever and was recently awarded a Best of Boston Award from Boston Magazine . “We plan to be here another fifteen years; always evolving and taking our food and service to the next level while staying true to our casual fun concept,” adds Co-owner and General Manager Carol Downs. Please celebrate with us throughout the month of November, and use the coupon below to enjoy a complimentary dessert or appetizer during your next dining experience at Bella Luna. Tap Into Fall Flavor at The Milky Way It’s proving to be a sultry autumn this year in Boston, and while we are enjoying the bright, warm days, New Englanders crave the crisp freshness of a typical October. You can tap into the tart and savory flavors of Fall with new seasonal Featured Cocktails at The Milky Way Lounge & Lanes in Jamaica Plain. The unusual Pumpkin French 75 blends Tanqueray Gin, Fresh Lemon Juice and Pumpkin Puree with Sofia “Blanc de Blancs” Sparkling Wine from the Coppola vineyards; a perfect refreshing sipper for the start of your evening. Bar Manager Mike Stankovich recommends the Honey Apple , a slightly sweet pleaser with Wild Turkey “American Honey” Bourbon, Fresh Apple Cider, topped with ginger ale. Instead of dessert, order the sumptuous and satisfying Pumpkin Pie Martini with Stoli Vanil Vodka, Malibu Coconut Rum, Kahlua, Pumpkin Puree, Simple Syrup and Light Cream. As always customers at the Milky Way bar will also enjoy a selection of Tapas treats from Executive Chef Omar Jae Ramirez, now featuring Maple Glazed Pork Belly with Roasted Apples for just $5, or Chicken Liver Pate with Orange Blossom Honey for $6.
