New Citizen Alert in A-1 Downtown Boston, Massachusetts

STOLEN DESIGNER SUNGLASSES
A-1 Downtown Boston, Massachusetts: On September 30th, in the afternoon, two males robbed an eyeglass store located in Downtown, Boston. The suspects took 17 pairs of Cartier eyeglasses (average retail value – $1,000.00 each). Suspect #1 gestured that he had a handgun. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 5’6″ in height, 150 lbs., thin build, brown hair, and brown eyes, wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt. Suspect #2 is described as a white hispanic male, 5’9″ in height, 185 lbs., medium build, brown hair, and brown eyes, wearing large sunglasses, navy blue jacket, and black baseball cap. Suspect #2 acted like he was chasing suspect #1 from the store after the robbery and both fled on foot towards Post Office Square. It appeared to be a ruse.
On October 1st, in the afternoon, two hispanic males robbed an eyeglass store located on Newbury Street, Boston. The suspects took Cartier, Prada, and Cavalli sunglasses (total value – $10,000). Both suspects fled on foot from the scene.
On October 5th, suspect #1 (from the 1st robbery 9/30) was arrested.
Retailers should monitor their stores for suspicious activity and call 9-1-1 if they believe that they are about to be robbed. Any further information regarding the robberies should be reported to the BPD District A-1 Detectives at #1-617-343-4248. If you receive information regarding the selling of designer suglasses at ie. pubs, restaurants, playgrounds, social clubs, etc.

New Citizen Alert in B-2 Roxbury, Massachusetts

Robbery of 7-Eleven at 425 Brookline ave, Boston
B-2 Roxbury, Massachusetts: There have been 2 recent robberies of the 7-Eleven located at 425 Brookline Ave Boston.
On 10/22/06 at about 7:44pm Boston Police responded to the 7-Eleven for a report of a robbery-taking place there. 2 suspects robbed the store attendant with a screwdriver and stabbed him in the hand. The victim provided a good description of the 2 suspects and shortly thereafter near Tremont St and St Alphonsus both suspects where arrested and positively identified by the victim. The entire event inside the store was captured on video surveillance.
On 10/25/06 at about 3:17am Boston Police responded to same location for a report of robbery. The attendant reported that an unknown black male 5-11 240lbs, dressed in a navy blue hooded sweatshirt and red pants brandished a knife and took about $50. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
Anybody with information concerning this second robbery is asked to call Boston police Area B-2 Detectives at 617-343-4275.

New Citizen Alert in E-18 Hyde Park, Massachusetts

PATTEN STREET ONE-WAY
E-18 Hyde Park, Massachusetts: In cooperation with local residents and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, The Boston Transportation Department is making Patten Street, Jamaica Plain, one way from Wachusetts Street to Rodman Street. The change is being made to enhance traffic and pedestrian safety.
The one-way change is expected to reduce cut-through traffic and put it back on the main thoroughfares, which are designed to handle large numbers of vehicles.

Recent Commercial Robbery in Dorchester & throughout the City
C-11 Dorchester, Massachusetts: 10/19/2006 08:45 PM, Robbery Type, Commercial
761 ADAMS ST, Business Name, Adams Village Shell, District C-11: Firearm, Demanded Money
Black male (age 25, dark hat, camouflage bandana covering face) demanded money from the register at gunpoint (black handgun). Suspect then demanded
money from lottery drawer, and ordered victim down onto the ground. The suspect then fled the scene.
There have been similar instances of commercial armed robberies throughout the city. In two occurrences, a silver colored sedan, possibly a Pontiac was used.
The Boston Police Department requests all citizens to remain vigilant and report any unusual circumstances immediately by calling 911.

Commercial Robberies
Hyde Park, Massachusetts: There were two commercial robberies which took place on District 18 on 10-18-06. The description and actions of the robber were the same leading officers to believe that both were committed by the same person. The River Street Market at 991 River St and Diana Market at 1070 Hyde Park Ave were robbed by a light Skin Hispanic male who displayed a black handgun. After robbing Diana Market he fled down Arlington St on a red mountain bike. Officers of District 18 later arrested the suspect a distance away infront of 599 American Legion Hwy

New Citizen Alert in B-2 Roxbury, Massachusetts

MISSION HILL BREAKING AND ENTERING SUSPECT
B-2 Roxbury, Massachusetts: Be on the look out for a Black, Non-Hispanic male in his mid to late twenties with a medium build and glasses. This suspect wore a hooded sweat shirt with red sleeves, light blue jeans and tan timberland boots. Witnesses reported seeing suspect sitting on the front porch of the apartment that was broken into on 10/16/06 between the hours of 9:50am and 12:45pm.

Please help deter thieves by keeping windows and doors closed and locked when no one is home. Also, get to know your neighbors and report suspicious persons and/or activities by calling 911.
