10/1 Benefit Gospel Concert - First Baptist Church

Catch the spirit Sunday evening, October st, at 7 p.m when the Haitian choir Messager de la Nouvelle Alliance (Messenger of the New Covenant) and Dina Jerome and Antoine Occeus, sing in a gospel benefit for the Building Restoration Fund of the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain (FBCJP). The concert will take place at the Philadelphia Baptist Church, 510 River Street in Mattapan.

The concert arrangements were made by Rev. Daniel Auguste, pastor of the Eglise Baptiste Pierre Angulaire (Cornerstone Baptist Church), a Haitian congregation which uses the facilities of The First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. “We are immensely grateful to First Baptist JP for having opened their doors to us when we were a new congregation,” Rev. Auguste told us, “and for the love which continues to flow between our two families. We are ready to help in any way we can as First Baptist JP rebuilds its home.” FBCJP Pastor Rev. Ashlee Wiest-Laird added “Our congregation’s mission statement affirms that we are a Christian community of many cultures, one faith.Our ongoing association with Eglise Baptiste Pierre Angulaire is one way our mission is made real.
